Ayurveda

Ayu = age, long life, r, and Veda = science

Ayurveda is a traditional Indian medicine and relies on taking purely herbal and mineral-based medicines. Charaka, a personal physician of King Kanishka from the 1st or 2nd century after the birth of Christ, is regarded as the founder of the teaching. In Sri Lanka, Ayurveda enjoys a high reputation and there are many doctors and clinics in which Ayurvedic medicine is used and whose healing power has already been proven many times. Too many people live in the Indian subcontinent and so they were supplied on a plant basis, which has become a tradition. You can take a herbal mixture of medicines against almost all diseases.

vaccination protection

Fantastic beaches and impressive sights attract and attract more and more German tourists to Sri Lanka. Due to the climate, population density and hygiene conditions, however, there are particular risks of infection here.

There is a risk of rabies from stray dogs on the beach and in the cities. Never feed or pet the dogs.

Unclean water and uncooked food are breeding grounds for pathogens such as hepatitis A, typhoid or cholera. Vaccinations offer protection here, however. A good protection against mosquitoes is also advisable, because they can transmit malaria or diarrheal diseases.

Insect repellent and body-covering clothing are advisable at dusk.

Check your polio, tetanus and diphtheria immunizations before you travel, as this provides basic protection for your trip.

You currently need a PCR test and a vaccination certificate with the status fully vaccinated to enter Sri Lanka.
